Sloth Metropolis

psych/prog/rock from Glasgow; spinning surreal sonic stories

Sloth Metropolis play an eclectic story-driven mix of progressive, psychedelic, folk, and world inspired rock.Their songs are tall tales, weaving surreal satire and every day observation into a mythology they call the SLOTH CYCLE. We follow a Sloth exploring the urban landscape of the band’s native Glasgow, modern Aristotles and Einsteins struggling with recession, alchemist idealists concocting botched utopias, and much more… the unifying elements of the band are intricate drumming, solid bass riffs, versatile keys and the unique sound of effect-laden electric-violin. The ongoing Sloth Cycle narrative that brings to mind the immersive worlds of Gong, King Crimson, Fairport Convention and Frank Zappa.
